From Elevated Fire Risk, Windy, Stormy, Chilly to SNāļøWY over the next 48 hours! Red Skies in the Morning⦠Time to take Warning!!! Hereās the breakdown of unfolding weather events:
**9am Tuesday Update**
š„RED FLAG WARNING TODAY THROUGH 8pm Tonight mountains of East TN. Low humidity, combined with gusty winds could spark new wildfires which would spread quickly.
šØHIGH WIND WARNING Mountains of East TN / SW VA. this afternoon through Wednesday afternoon. Wind prone areas could have wind gusts in excess of 100 MPH, areas like Camp Creek and Cove Mountain. āļøAs a line of showers and storms move in after midnight, we could see our highest wind gusts during this time frame, during the early morning hours Wednesday. Gusty straight line winds in excess of 60 mph are possible area wide.
š„¶WIND ADVISORY for the rest of the region around SW VA, NC mountains and all of eastern KY & TN. Winds could gust to 45 mph even across the valley floor.
āļøRain redevelops late Wednesday afternoon/evening. Temps tumble sharply during this time frame and rain will change to SNāļøW late Wednesday evening into Thursday morning. All of us have the chance of seeing the flakes fly, a light accumulation expected āup-topā of 2-3ā. Meanwhile, the rest of us could pick up a coating to an inch in spots. Just a reminder from Mother Nature that itās still Winter.
