🚨WINTER STORM WARNING!!! ⚠️

Conditions will rapidly deteriorate area wide early to mid afternoon as heavier SN❄️W bands move this direction. Please try to stay off the roads or be off them by 3pm. Between 4pm and 10pm heavy SN❄️W bands move up I-81 and could produce near white out conditions at times. Many locations in Sullivan, Hawkins, Hancock will pick up around a half foot of SN❄️W. Washington, eastern parts of Greene could see a lull that’s why 3-6” seems reasonable still. Unicoi, Carter and Johnson thanks to the wrap around flow and extended upslope 4”-8”. Some could see more, some less with mixing/ brief lulls east of 81. Regardless, treacherous travel is expected later this afternoon. Travel is highly discouraged by the evening commute so please try to be to your destination or home by 3pm.

Overnight locally heavy SN❄️W continues…

White outs are possible before 2am. Tapering to flurries in the TRI mid-morning with SN❄️W showers continuing in the mountains. Not much melting expected Saturday with highs near 30° and even colder wind chills.

Sunny Sunday and FINALLY above freezing. Mid to upper 30s. As lows fall back into the teens it will be a slippery commute Monday on untreated surfaces. A clipper moves in bringing more flurries and light SN❄️W Monday afternoon/evening followed by yet another deep freeze Tuesday through Thursday with highs back in the upper 20s and lows in the teens much of next week!

Stay safe, warm and off the roads my friends! ☃️

Average High in the TRI: 46° and Average Low: 26°. When You Need To Know: #JoeKnowsSNOW #TNwx #VAwx #NCwx #snOMG #BrrrAlert #JoeKnowsWX #AppalachainStrong
