WINTER STORM WARNING — UPDATE:
Confidence continues to increase for a high impactful Winter Storm on FRI-YAY. = About a Half foot coming for some locally, even MORE for others! Some could see less that get Brief WHY my accumulations of a heavy, wet SNOW is likely for your Friday into Saturday. Covering my bases…
1) COLD AIR (and do we have enough of that… 2) LOW’s TRACK, Gulf Coast hugger, I like it… 3) MOISTURE coming up through “The Great Valley” an area between N. Bama to Chatt. to Knox. into the TRI. Think of the track of the 2011 Tornado Outbreak. (That’s why those heavy bands should hold together) 4) TIMING: Heaviest falls late afternoon/evening and overnight. Matters because it will certainly ALL stick. 5) TYPE: Low will be far enough away for downsloping to be a big concern since the moisture flow is coming up from our SW, in almost text book style. If you recall, there were some concerns for more mixing to occur like the middle of Jan last year. Joe Knows is sticking to MORE flakes and cold will win out. A period of mixing for some early on is possible, but most part this will be a heavy shoveling SNW event for most of us on your Saturday. 6) Snowmen you build will stick around through most of next week as highs aren’t expected to get over 38° for the next 7+ days! #Impressive Thanks for taking time to read my thoughts on how it’ll all pan out on Fri-YAY PM. #JoeKnowsSnow #TNwx #NCwx #VAwx #BrrrAlert #snOMG #JoeKnowsWX
