⚠️FLOOD WATCH!⚠️

After tonight many of our mountainous counties in Eastern Tennessee will have a new landscape due to excessive rainfall over the same areas.

💔This truly hurts your Cup’O-Joe’s heart to have to forecast, it’s only been a year and a half since #Helene hit us and changed many lives forever, but alerting y’all to potential dangers comes with the outlook territory, and unfortunately a life-threatening event could unfold overnight into the first part of your Saturday. Showers and storms are already forming this evening and tonight around the Smokies advancing towards NE TN. Some cells (especially Saturday morning), could put down 1.5 to as much as 3 INCHES PER HOUR rainfall rates, very tropical-like torrential downpours are on the way following rounds of heavy rainfall earlier this week.

💦Tonight into Saturday will be more widespread across the TRI and points southward. Please, stay tuned to the latest warnings as these slow-moving training storms move into our area. Seek higher ground and if you’re in a flood prone area, it may be best to go ahead and evacuate as a precaution.

🙏🏻This isn’t for hype and I’ve waited to review the latest data to suggest what unfortunately looks to unfold into your Saturday. Count on Joe Knows to keep you and yours safe & ahead of the storms!

Praying for everyone’s safety tonight. 🫶🏻
