Your Fri-YAY will be the calm before the storm and make today your final day for preparations, before the Winter Storm hits. As of right now, it looks like the storm will begin early to mid-Saturday afternoon.

Winter Storm Details:

The precipitation will get heavier as we get into your Saturday evening. The surface will likely be below freezing during the onset of the precipitation so expect a quick and slick accumulation. 🌨️

Followed by more mixing Saturday evening with sleet and yes a period of freezing rain will be likely for many areas. The freezing rain will create a glaze to a quarter of an inch+ of ICE on everything Saturday night. By dawn and into the morning hours of your Sunday expect a change over to a C🥶LD rain for most of NE TN and parts of SW VA as the “warm nose” wins out throughout all layers of the atmosphere. Highs Sunday will likely top out in the mid to possibly upper 40s. As we get on the back side of this powerhouse of a Winter Storm, expect wrap around Northwesterly flow to take over and produce SN❄️W Sunday night into early Monday, some squalls could be on the moderate side.

**FLASH FREEZE EXPECTED SUNDAY NIGHT!**

Temps quickly tumble from the 40s into the teens!

Highs Monday will be stuck in the low to middle 20s.

Our next chance of SN❄️W arrives late Wednesday into early Thursday followed by a reinforcing shot of Arctic air later next week. Highs / Lows will be running 15°-20° BELOW average all of next week!
