🥵Sunday’s high was 90° (the first of the year at the Tri-Cities Airport). It was the 6th earliest 90° on record at TRI. We went from a record low of 32° Friday morning to missing the record high Sunday by 1 degree, all in the matter of 60 or so hours apart from one extreme to the other as Summer boots out Old Man Winter hanging around…

This has been the 3rd driest Spring on record at TRI (and the driest since 1986 with only 49% of normal rainfall, so far). It’s also the 7th driest May and 8th driest year to date. That will be changing over the next 7-10 days as relief is in sight later this week.

🌞Summer preview continues… Highs near 90° Monday (record high is 92° set back in 1962) and Tuesday (record is 91° in 1962). While a pop-up shower/isolated storm is possible during the heating of the day, many of us will likely stay dry. Rain and scattered thunderstorm chances ramp up Wednesday afternoon with highs in the 80s. Scattered rain and storms linger late week and into the weekend with rounds of rain possible with muggy highs in the 70s. Most locations by Friday will pick up at least an inch of rain. More showers this weekend, we watch it closely for the sold out Savannah Bananas game on Saturday at Neyland.
