FRIGID FRIDAY… We are now tied for the 5th

C🥶LDEST January on record and coldest we’ve experienced since 1994! Flurries will continue on/off and at times squalls could produce some light SN❄️W producing a coating to an inch in spots, especially those “usual spots” on the western facing slopes! Things could get white fast because of the frozen tundra of the TRI, including bridges and overpasses and secondary roads. Wind chills at times will make it feel like the teens, even in the metro!

Once the SN❄️W tapers off this evening skies will clear and temps will tank to the low and middle teens.

WEEKEND OUTLOOK and Beyond…

Saturday will feel like a heat wave with highs near 40°. This could be the first time the mountains have climbed above freezing in nearly a week.

Sunday will have highs topping out in lower 40s, but increasing clouds and a chance of a few Mtn flurries. Most of the precip holds off until late Sunday night/early Monday with a SN❄️W/ rain combo we will be just cold enough to support SN❄️W! Keeping a close eye on how much moisture comes up our way! Stay tuned for further updates as more data comes in regarding this early week event unfolding.

Then, we turn seasonably MILD… that’s right highs near 50° midweek will feel like a real heat wave compared to the single digits and 20s we’ve had recently.

Tix just went on $ale this morning for 9-to-5:
