Some lucky folks in the metro may top out above freezing for a few hours this afternoon with highs in the mid 30s. Sunny skies continues into early Wednesday followed by increasing clouds with a slight chance of a stray afternoon shower. Some may top out near 60° Wednesday, which would be the first 60+ degree reading since Thanksgiving Eve in the TRI, back on November 26th.

Most of the rain area wide holds off until late Thursday afternoon and especially Thursday night. Some areas could get nearly an inch of new rainfall by Friday morning. As temps fall into the 30s, any remaining moisture behind the cold front could change over to light SN❄️W before ending Friday morning. Warmer this weekend with highs topping out in the middle 50s.
