Tough night for the Ozarks⦠šŖļø
Large tornado just hit Newport, the Jonesboro area of Arkansas and Paragould Friday Night. Today the severe risk has shifted across the Deep South.
A rare **HIGH RISK** of severe weather expected across Mississippi and Alabama. Unfortunately a large tornado outbreak may unfold later today south of the Tennessee Valley. A destructive day expected with long track tornadoes in these High Risk areas of Birmingham to Tuscaloosa, AL and over to Jackson, MS.
Lots of questions about Dollywoodās opening day and local St. Paddyās Day festivities. The downsloping high winds will actually keep most of far eastern TN counties dry. The heavier early-day rainfall stays back across Knoxville and points westward. So yes, they might actually get the Dolly Parton parade in rain-free today! š¤š»
Timing in the TRI: Large cells develop for us later tonight after 11pm till 4am looks to be the greatest risk for the scattered possibility of severe storms coming in from there SW. An isolated tornado canāt be ruled out locally, however straight line winds will be the main area wide threat along with flash flooding. Some could pick up 2ā+. Stay safe and alert.
